We have had our first round of students share their science presentations to the class. I am impressed with their thoughtful ideas and the enthusiasm that they bring when sharing their topic. Each day we will have about five students share their presentations. If you have not done so already, check out SeeSaw. I am recording each student as they present and uploading their presentations there so parents can listen to them. I will share pictures here. :) Our second grade students buddied up with fourth grade students to practice their math fact fluency. Each Tuesday and Thursday for fifteen minutes the older students are going to tutor our friends. This is going to be a great way to practice and memorize our addition and subtraction facts to twenty within three seconds. Merry Christmas from the Super Second graders at Crull! I hope that your break is filled with sleeping in, snowman building, and reading, reading, reading! We cannot wait to see everyones smiling faces on Wednesday, January 4th. :) We worked very hard with money today at school. We used plastic play money to investigate how much each coin was worth. In partners we added some work onto SeeSaw, "buying" materials from a fake store. Check out our SeeSaw app (you received information on how to join at parent teacher conferences). If you need help logging on, please let us know! Don't forget that we do not have school tomorrow for election day. I encourage everyone to vote! We have been talking about how once we turn 18 we have to right to vote in local and national election. Below is a website that I shared with the kiddos today, a "meet the candidates" activity. See everyone back on Wednesday!
Aligned to our "Community Leaders" unit in social studies, we were lucky enough to have Mayor Repp come and visit all second graders in our building. She brought along a flow chart from City Hall that explains the different committees within the city of Port Huron. The second graders had some marvelous questions to ask her about what it takes to run the city.
Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to visit us! We happily announce that we have some added instructional technology added to Crull Elementary! Our classroom has RAZ Kids available for all students, which is an online library that has books that are the PERFECT reading level for your child! Below is how to log onto the books at home. You can do this while on a computer or laptop, as well as from a tablet, ipad, ipod, and smart phones. If you need any additional support getting your kiddo to use this at home, please do not hesitate to ask. We are here to help you! |
Room 107The fabulous second graders of room 107 welcome you! We hope you check back often to see the awesome learning that is taking place. Archives
